Event Description: Presenter: Carla Helm, Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) This seminar is designed to help businesses measure their impact by performing an audit of their business practices in areas related to governance, social responsibility, employee engagement and environmental footprint. Participants will be given unlimited access to the Measure What Matters tool – a free, confidential digital platform tailored to the B Corp principals. Knowledgeable experts will be on-site to guide participants through the questionnaire. If you are a business owner interested in becoming B Corp certified or looking to complete an impact ‘health check’ then this seminar is for you. NOTE: Please feel free to bring a snack or brown bag dinner to make the most of this session. Attendee will learn the following: 1. All about B Corps 2. What it takes to build a better business for you, your employees, your community and the environment 3. How to “Measure What Matters” to you and your business with a free, easy to use tool that helps you create a customized improvement plan and gives you a best practice guide to help with implementation Carla Heim is a Senior Advisor Social Entrepreneurship at BDC. Carla works with social entrepreneurs in Canada to provide the tools and funding to grow their businesses. Through 30 years in business, she knows that entrepreneurs can hit the limits of their skills and capacity, and her passion lies in helping them push through those challenges.
