(originally posted in google, 2018...): ...my only regret is that i did not check out simply computing earlier! :)
enjoyed my initial visit with 'asad' today, regarding refurbishing options to an older macbook pro laptop.
very empathetic, relaxed & entertaining exchange and fact-finding exercise. asad effortlessly took the initiative to diagnose the laptop in question and agreed to a couple of possible solutions.
asad also offered to take in said laptop for more detailed examination and eventually ran a series of very helpful cleaning procedures--no obligations! talk about taking ownership, too!
i can't wait to confirm that i'll be placing some overdue business with him in the very near future! don't make the same 'mistake' i did--consult with this business sooner than later, especially if you value good timely counsel & $aving$...! i wish simply computing great success in 2018 & beyond!
(ps) ...sadly this winnipeg location closed operations suddenly later in 2019--another story...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lindsey K.Red Deer, AB01May 3, 2018
I recommend Simply Computing to anyone with Apple products or considering. The staff are friendly without being overly gushy and professional without being impersonal. I have older parents who wanted to simplify their home computing situation so I broight them to SC to get setup with ipads and they be the first to tell you that it changed their world.

I very rarely do poor reviews about small businesses but this is an exception. I frequented Simply Computing when it was MacHelper and had great service. Since it was sold to Simply Computing the customer service and technical staff is incompetent.
In November I brought my computer in for a tune up and to replace the hard drive. When I reclaimed the computer, it performed worse than when I brought it in. I was told by staff "there wasn't much we could do."
Because my girlfriend has a computer I opted to sell this one - but because I couldn't in good conscience sell an inferior product privately I opted to sell it to them instead. I brought it in, did a diagnostic test and was offered $200 for my 2011 MacBook Pro. I turned that down opting to sell it for parts instead.
When I returned home, my computer would not boot up showing only a folder with a question mark on it. I called the store asking what they did to my computer - which aside from its slow performance was working fine prior to bringing it in - and they said they had no responsibility for damaging my property.
When I brought my computer for service in November it worked worse than when I brought it in. Today I brought a computer good working order and left with one that won't boot up.
Like I said - I never write negative reviews about small business but I have never experienced such incompetence and dishonesty as I have with Simply Computing. NEVER do business with these people.

This was our second time into Simply Computing after purchasing a new laptop last summer where we received fantastic service and support. Our 6 year old laptop crashed just before Christmas. We took it in to see if anything could be done on Boxing Day and was told it would take approximately 4 business days to get to it. That seemed fine to us. Initial diagnostics were indicating a non-functional hard drive and we were advised they could replace it with a new one for approximately $170 (that also seemed reasonable). So imagine our surprise when we received a call 3 hours later saying the hard drive was fine - it was just the connection between the drive and motherboard. Everything was repaired and ready to go, for only $70! Besides the prompt and effective repair, everyone we've dealt with are so pleasant, professional, and respectful of those who are not so tech savvy. Thanks again Simply Computing!

I visited the Simply computing to get my iMac fixed and was referred from the Apple store which I thought was odd, I guess Apple doesn't repair older machines and I'd rather get it fixed.
before walking into the store I thought it would be this rundown mom and pop shop but once I was in it was very clean and organized. After speaking with one the gentleman he was able to explain that it was likely a graphics card (Apple vaguely mentioned the same thing) but that they could have it done by Monday. I liked the fact that all of whom I spoke with seemed to know everything instead of being passed around and having to wait an hour.
I've had a few friends recommend Simply but being closer to Polo I've always dealt with them. Knowing what I know now and with the experience I've received I would only every go to Simply.
Keep up the good work!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
