Due to the isolation of the community, CPI leaned heavily on local labour and resources, including the hardware store, restaurants and living accommodations. Ccompleted on time and within budget, CPI installed a new 1,000 square foot metal-clad control building adjacent to the existing generating station. With thick insulation with standing seam prefinished metal roofing, this included foundation and site works, new thermal windows and metals doors, new electrical and mechanical to accommodate the new generator set and a new oil storage and handling system. CPI also decommissioned the existing fuel system and installed new tanks with controls, a commission system and train.

  • 𝐋𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐑𝐨𝐛 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐢, 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 At the age of 16, Rob stepped onto a Con-Pro Industries construction site and never looked back. He started as a general laborer and transitioned to pipe fitting and carpentry before eventually leading his first job in Ottawa in 1985. Now with over 40 years of construction experience in Canada, Rob has completed well over 100 jobs across multiple industries, including healthcare, commercial, industrial, retail, fuel, schools, new construction and renovation projects. Some of his most memorable jobs include the East Elmwood Community Centre (2016), Peguis First Nation Health Centre (2011) and a Fuel Storage Facility in the ultra-remote northern community of Pelly Bay, Nunavut in 1980. With meticulous attention to detail and an anything is possible attitude, Rob places a strong emphasis on communication between project teams, subcontractors and clients. His motto of “we either work together or we don’t work at all” is how he communicates and leads his teams through conflict and challenges to achieve a successful project. A homebody at heart, Rob spends his time away from work with his family, in particular his nieces and nephews. As the resident handyman for his friends, family and neighbours, he also enjoys working around the house and in the yard.
