Event Description: Presenter: Cheryl Krostewitz, Manitoba Cooperative Association Cooperatives are found all over the world and all have one thing in common – their values and principles. This workshop provides an overview of what is a cooperative, how to start one and what resources are available for you. You’ll learn about the values and principles of a cooperative, what model of business it is and how it differs from other business models. Attendee will learn the following: 1. What is a cooperative 2. The various types of cooperatives 3. Legal and ongoing requirements Cheryl Krostewitz is an experienced cooperative developer who loves teaching people about cooperatives as a business model. She specializes in training, governance and help with incorporation. Ms. Krostewitz’ strong belief in community development/community economic development has led her to a passion for cooperatives as a natural fit.
